Kathy‘s professional bio / interests
Kathy joined the EDI Directorate at The University of Manchester in September 2021 and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Equality and Diversity Practitioners. She partners with Humanities leads on Equality Impact Assessments and supports work on disability and gender. Prior to joining the EDI team, she was the EDI Officer at Cheshire East Council, where she won their Making a Difference Award for Brighter Future Team of the Year in 2018. Kathy lives with Ankylosing Spondylitis and Rheumatoid Arthritis and is a two time cancer survivor which has made her a passionate advocate for people living with disabilities and health conditions. Her lived experience informs her role as EDI Partner for Disability including supporting the work needed to elevate the university to Disability Leader status.
